I have recently fell into this hobby but have always been interested in trains. I am fascinated by the power and size of such mechanical wonders. And please forgive me I know nothing about one train to the next. Does it really matter though? I just want to be able to relax in my nicely landscaped backyard, enjoy cold lemonade with family and friends and conversate as trains loop around in the yard. And so as I venture to share with you my progress I would like to encourage you to share your thoughts and suggestions, insights and know hows. I have plenty of questions that I am sure will be answered here and there but mostly this might help someone else just starting out. So relax and enjoy as we watch this backyard empire or not...unfold. :)

My first question is what era is this Sante Fe diesel from? 70's? 80's? Help me discover this jewel I bought at a liquidation sale.

Welcome all!

Hello My name is Rick and this is my first attempt at learning to keep a garden landscape and add a garden train. Watch video clips of my progress or lack thereof. Submit advice, ask me a question or just sit back and enjoy the fun. I hope this turns out well and you learn a thing or two about something I am absolutely new at.
